AIR PURIFIERS
How is Air Quality Measured?
Air quality is measured in PM µg/m³.
PM stands for particulate matter: the term for a mixture of solid particles and liquid droplets found in the air. Some particles, such as dust, dirt, soot, or smoke, are large or dark enough to be seen with the naked eye.
PM µg/m³ measures the concentration of an air pollutant in micrograms (one-millionth of a gram) per cubic meter air or µg/m3.
Our units have built in air quality sensors with lights to indicate the air quality. The quality thresholds are as follows:
- Blue (Good air quality) – PM ≤75 µg/m³
- Yellow (Average air quality) – PM 75-150 µg/m³
- Red (Poor air quality) – PM >150 µg/m³
